Sheriff's Report for November 5, 2009

The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff's Office Oct. 26 to Nov. 1. In total, the sheriff's office handled 485 calls during this seven-day period.
AIRCRAFT
Oct. 30
10:04 p.m., Claridon Troy Road, Claridon. Mechanical issues, east of Claridon Troy, west of 608. En route to Portage Airport with LifeFlight's crew.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
Oct. 30
11:49 p.m., Plank Road, Montville. My teenage son is going berserk, has been hitting the walls and destroying the house. Has not hit anyone. No weapons, unknown if on probation. Male issued a summons for underage and disorderly conduct.
DRUGS / ALCOHOL
Oct. 31
9:15 p.m., Wilson Mills Road, Munson. Mother called stated 16-year-old son and friends were home alone. Mother returned from taking younger kids trick-or-treating and found marijuana in the house. Son is not home but is coming home now. Mother would like to speak with a deputy. Mother wants somebody to speak with her son about drug use, which deputy took care of. Mother found three very small pieces of a green vegetable like matter on a desk, which was disposed of.
HARASSMENT
Oct. 27
2:51 p.m., Mayfield Road, Claridon. I am still getting harassing phone calls. They have a cough that I know. Time Warner said they cannot put a trace on the line. There was damage to my storm door also by someone that delivered campaign literature. Complainant is 53 and changed topics several times. She also stated a known friend keeps calling without permission. Complainant did not want this deputy to contact caller. Complainant stated she wants the sheriff's office to catch the drunk drivers.
MENACING
Oct. 28
3:36 p.m., Wake Robin Drive, Newbury. Step-daughter has been receiving threatening letters from a male on Facebook.
SUSPICIOUS
Oct. 27
10:19 a.m., Hermitage Road, Chardon. Dogs have been brining very large bones from woods up to my house for a week now. The bones tentatively were identified as deer bones, but the coroner's office took possession of them pending positive ID.
4:25 p.m., Nelson Road, Parkman. Male in a white van tried to get the female in the van. She him no then ran home. Black shirt, heavy set with a beard. Round sticker on the right rear of the van. Portage County was advised of the call via landline.
5:12 p.m., Linda Drive, Newbury. Would like to make a report. Someone is parking in my driveway and leaving oil stains. Caller's car does not leak. Deputy inspected caller's car and observed fluid coming from his vehicle. Caller insists it's from another vehcile. Deputy observed oil and coolant leaking from the engine.
Oct. 28
8:36 a.m., Auburn Road, Munson. Male caller said I pay $900 or I will go to jail over phone.
Oct. 30
10:08 a.m., Sunshine Drive, Chardon. Someone raking leaves in the stream. Complainant stated her neighbor is blowing his leaves into the creek and blocking up the creek. Deputy checked the area and found the neighbor is blowing the leaves into his backyard and not into the creek.
TRAFFIC HAZARD
Oct. 30
7:07 p.m., Chardon Road, Chardon. Deer or large dog in the road. It's a pile of leaves and a couple of twigs. Not a hazard.
