November indoor programming at Geauga Park District

Winter may not be your cup of tea; but you needn't stay inside until April's sun melt's the snows away. Head over the Geauga Park District and come inside to learn a bit about the outside - it's winter fun without the winter chill.

* Winter Wildflower Workshop

Nov. 8, 2 to 4 p.m.

Swine Creek Reservation, 16004 Hayes Road, Middlefield and Parkman townships, Lodge

Learn to identify the seed-bearing winter skeletons of wildflowers. Winter Weed booklet is available for $3.75 the day of program. Joint program with Native Plant Society of Northeastern Ohio. Pre-registration required.

* Food: What Do Farms Have to Do With It?

Nov. 12, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The West Woods, 9465 Kinsman Road, Russell Township

Join Nancy Kothura, Marilyn Anderson and Alvin Rhodes, co-owners of Rhodes' Sisters Christmas Trees, for a discussion of the local sustainable agricultural movement. Contributions for sharing of local foods are welcome. Pre-registration required.

GPD holds second Bass Lake public input meeting

Geauga Park District plans to undertake park improvement projects in 2010 at Bass Lake Preserve located at 11445 Lakeview Drive in Munson Township.
