Filled with hatred

I can't believe one person can be filled with so much hatred. I'm speaking of Judy Zamlen-Spotts and her regular vitriolic letters to the editor.

Her letters would be fine if she simply focused on the issue and spoke her mind. But she doesn't. It seems she takes great sport in making vindictive personal attacks on those she hates. She hates a lot of people.

I feel sorry for her and I'd like to offer her this advice: Judy, tomorrow morning when you wake up, please take a long hard look in the mirror and reflect on the miserable human being that you've become.

Tremendous turnout, passion

First, I would like to congratulate Mike Joyce and Judy Caputo for their election. I also thank Charlie Stevens and Terence Check for their admirable efforts to serve the public.

I sincerely appreciate the folks who worked so hard on my behalf and the many voters who supported me. Their efforts are very much appreciated more than words can say.

I especially want to thank the voters of Chesterland for their tremendous turnout. It shows that when people have a passionate belief in something, we can make the effort for our voices to be heard. I hope that passion continues into the future and the people will remain active, informed and involved in our township to ensure good government.

He who lives by lies losses by them

As I was sorting through my mail the other day, I came across a mailer titled, "Important Voter Information for Chester Township Residents," that was authored by outgoing Trustee Ron Cotman.

As I read through this mailer, Mr. Cotman made many 'claims' pertaining to fellow Trustee Judy Caputo, questioning her credibility, accountability, integrity and ability to be a trustee for Chester Township.

Mr. Cotman pointed out many disturbing and questionable points in his flier, ranging from Mrs. Caputo's "connections" to her "poor accomplishments record". (Remember, Mr. Cotman, he who lives in a glass house should not cast stones.)

As I read on, it became very clear to me that, for all of the accusations and personal comments he listed, I never saw any "facts," only Mr. Cotman's twisted and fantasy interpretations of his own opinions. It also became clear to me that Mr. Cotman holds a lot of animosity and jealousy towards Mrs. Caputo which is on the line of being very disturbing and creepy.

The last I knew it is a board of three (of which he was one) that sit together. They either accomplish the goals of the board together or they do not. Things such as tearing down buildings or putting together procedure manuals is not left up to only one person but to all of the board to accomplish together. So, if these goals were not accomplished, then Mr. Cotman needs to look at himself and not just point fingers at others.

I, too, have worked in the upper management corporate world for 29 years. I have also worked with many diverse groups of teams and individuals, and I have seen many individuals like Mr. Cotman who hide behind others while they do their dirty work to undermine and destroy the integrity of others only for their own personal agendas, egos or monetary gains.

The residents of Chester saw through the "scam" and "lies" of Mr. Cotman on Nov. 3 and proved that by re-electing Mrs. Caputo and electing Mike Joyce to office. Now with Mrs. Caputo, Mr. Joyce, and Trustee Clay Lawrence, this board can be the true representatives of the people and for the people of Chester Township.

As for Mr. Stevens and Mr. Radtke, you both have no one to blame for your loses but yourselves, and you should both be ashamed for allowing Mr. Cotman to lead you down the path of destruction as he did. "That is not the role of a real leader," but the footsteps of followers.

I am very proud to have a trustee that will fight for what they truly believe in and one that is not afraid to put themself in the line of fire and stand up for the residents of her township, and have only the residents best interest as their only soul motivation and drive.

I call that a great leader. I call that a great person. I call that a great trustee. And, most of all, I am proud to call that person my sister.

Jim Caputo
