H1N1 flu update
Each week the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) analyzes information about influenza disease activity in the United States and publishes findings of key flu indicators in a report called FluView. A summary of the most recent FluView reports that Ohio, like most of the nation, is reporting widespread influenza activity at this time and that this many reports of widespread activity are unprecedented during seasonal flu.
Almost all of the influenza viruses identified so far are 2009 H1N1 influenza A viruses. These viruses remain similar to the virus chosen for the 2009 H1N1 vaccine.
Please remember that if a student has a temperature of 100.0 degrees or higher and/or is experiencing influenza-like symptoms, he/she should stay home from school until symptom/fever free for 24 hours.
Please do not give your child medication for a fever and send him/her to school. Most often, the fevers return around lunchtime. They will be sent home if their temperature is 100.0 degrees or higher.
