Pumpkin carving at Jordak

Jerry Rose is the father of two Jordak students. Young Jerry is in Mrs. Misinec's first grade and Xander is in Mrs. Schmucker's kindergarten B class.

Dad Jerry is well-known in the Huntsburg area, and locally, for growing giant pumpkins. He travels to fairs and contests and recently did well with his entry.

Mr. Rose decided it would be great for the Jordak students to see his treasure. He invited his sons' classes outside to watch him carve a face into the pumpkin. It is located right outside of the entrance to Jordak.

Mr. Rose used a saw to carve diamond shaped eyes, at the request of the children. Xander and Jerry helped their dad, as well. Mr. Rose shared pumpkin seeds with all of the children. Who knows? Maybe he'll have some competition next fall.

8th graders are CVC champs

Even though conference championships are not actually recognized at the middle school level, they are just as important to these athletes as they would be to any high school athlete.

With this being said, congratulations to the Cardinal Middle School eighth-grade volleyball team on being CVC Valley Division champs with a 12-2 overall record and 12-0 in the conference.

We look forward to great things from these girls next year high school level and for years to come.

Box Tops for Education

CMS is collecting box tops for a fundraising effort. Box Tops for Education is a program by General Mills. Products have a "box top" that can be clipped and sent in to the school. The school receives 10 cents for each box top collected.

Each homeroom is trying to collect the most. The PTO is sponsoring a contest which runs through Dec. 11. There will be one winning classroom per grade level. Last year, the elementary campus collected more than $2,000 worth of box tops.
