Jerry Rose is the father of two Jordak students. Young Jerry is in Mrs. Misinec's first grade and Xander is in Mrs. Schmucker's kindergarten B class.

Dad Jerry is well-known in the Huntsburg area, and locally, for growing giant pumpkins. He travels to fairs and contests and recently did well with his entry.

Volleyball team is undefeated

Cardinal Middle School's seventh-grade volleyball team finished their season with a perfect 14-0 record, with wins over Berkshire, Kirtland, Newbury, Aurora, Harvey, Hawken and Fairport Harbor. From the beginning of practice in August, they displayed a desire to win and strived to excel throughout the season.

Cardinal Middle School student council is sponsoring a dog/cat food drive during the month of October for the Humane Society. The homeroom that brings in the most will win a prize. Collections will be made through Oct. 31. Student council advisor is Ms. Karen Berigan.
